Are you thinking of ways to spice up your lesson plan? Consider adding fungi to your curriculum!
Currently, fungi are used to treat oil spills, provide insulation for buildings, package products, and a variety of other applications besides food. Introducing students to a wide range of uses for fungi, and the natural strategies of fungi, can encourage students to think of creative solutions to improve a situation and address an environmental challenge.

Earth Day at Ecovative
Every day is Earth Day at Ecovative, but we decided to do something special this year. In honor of Earth Day’s 40th anniversary, we all took the afternoon to plant trees and shrubs to beautify our community and sequester carbon. Many thanks go out to Capital District Community Gardens for helping us organize and run this planting and for showing us the new Youth Powered Farm project
